The Financial Times reports (paywall) that Amazon has paid $250million for 36 episodes of the Top Gear replacement starring Jeremy Clarkson, James May and Richard Hammond. Initial reaction on Twitter by some was shock at the amount, but it’s not actually shocking at all.
