There’s a bit of irony to modern gadget design: As things get more powerful in function, they seem to get more minimal in form. Nowhere is this trendline more evident than with the Apple Watch—a tiny square of a screen that relies largely on broad finger strokes to control a device that probably has more horsepower than a warehouse-sized supercomputer of decades’ past.
