McGraw-Hill Education made an equity investment and formed an exclusive marketing arrangement with busuu.com, both companies announced today. According to the joint press release, busuu accepted a series B round of investment of €6 million or about $6.5 million for an undisclosed sized minority stake giving MHE “exclusive global rights to market busuu to B2B customers, including schools, private language institutions and corporations.” MHE sited busuu’s “innovative mobile solutions” as part of what attracted them to the investment. Busuu’s previous funding consisted of angel funds plus a Series A of $4.6 million, according to CBInsights. Busuu is a major player in the online language learning space. Founded in 2008, the company says it has been adding as many as 100,000 users each day, with 55 million total.
