This Program Taught Itself To Play ‘Mario Kart’
SethBling wrote a piece of software called MarI/O which teaches itself to play video games through narrow evolution. Previously it took a shot at playing “Super Mario Bros.,” and now its tackling the first game in the “Mario Kart” franchise. Several generations in, it figured out how to drive properly, and even learned a few shortcuts.
