Hit Counters: The Analytics Tool of the Early Web
It wasn’t so much that these developers weren’t ready for web analytics as it was that web analytics wasn’t ready for them: most solutions to monitor site traffic were expensive, complicated, or both. However, this did leave these amateur web developers with one, obvious, burning question: How many people are looking at my website?
